SEAMLESs project announces MASS business models survey

The SEAMLESS project , EU funded autonomous shipping research project, started to identify and analyze the business models related to maritime autonomous surface ships (MASS) throughout the logistics chain, including ports. To achieve these goals the survey has been launched to all market players with the aim to collect information on this topic: 🔗 link for survey.
The aim of SEAMLESS is to develop and adapt the missing technological components and key enabling technologies to create a fully automated, economically viable, cost-effective and resilient #waterborne freight service for Short Sea Shipping (SSS) and Inland Waterway Transport (IWT). Autonomous systems will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly operations by shifting freight transport from road to inland waterways.
🎤 Jorge Miguel Lara Lopez, Senior Project Manager at Fundación Valenciaport, said “Your views will contribute to the recommendations to be forwarded to the EU, facilitating the natural path of innovation that these automated services need and to be able to clear uncertainties about the deployment of these solutions in the maritime, ports and inland waterway sector”.
🤝 The SEAMLESS project started in January 2023 and will last until the end of 2026. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101096923.
