DEMCON Unmanned Systems receives DNV Type Approval for DUS V5750 USV

DEMCON Unmanned Systems, Dutch Unmanned Surface Vehicles developer, announced reception of DNV Type Approval certificate for 7m DUS V5750 type USVs. As reported it is the first USV developer and manufacturer in the Netherlands to receive this certification for a 100% unmanned vessel.
The certificate proves that the USV designs and shipbuilding processes meet the highest safety and quality standards, in this case, the international DNV Standard Craft (DNV-ST-0342) class. All critical systems, such as the power supply, had to be redundant, all within the very compact 7m design. This required smart solutions without compromising on safety and performance.
🎤 Fedor Ester, Managing Director of DEMCON Unmanned Systems, commented, “We are very proud to receive the DNV Type Approval certificate, making us the first in the Netherlands to achieve this for truly 100% unmanned vessels. This crucial approval confirms that our USV designs and shipbuilding processes meet the highest international safety and quality standards, ensuring customers that our USVs adhere to industry best practices. This certification not only enables serial production of this USV type but also paves the way for our other USV platforms and improved production capability, underscoring our commitment to delivering reliable and safe solutions in the maritime industry.”
