Oceaneering completed its first Exail Drix USV deployment for survey

Oceaneering, US headquartered global engineering services and products solutions provider, has announced recent completion of survey mission made by its own USV Drix. The USV was controlled from Oceaneering Remote Operations Center (ROC) situated in Morgan City, Louisiana, USA.
As reported the USV provided survey of 327 km and operations included 33 hours of over-the-horizon piloting. During mission Drix made Block and pipeline route surveys with multibeam and SBP data, which were available on near real-time for Oceaneering teams located in Brazil and Morgan City.
These operations are following announced in 2023 the acquisition of Exail’s USV for Oceaneering fleet. The use of the DriX USV on offshore survey and inspection work scopes enables Oceaneering to improve operational efficiencies, reduce overall vessel time on site, and significantly reduce carbon emissions. Specifics of acquired USV is that it utilize dual independent positioning correction services from Oceaneering’s C-NAV® group for uninterrupted operations, thereby improving reliability.
