Yinson GreenTech successfully tests Zeabuz’s ZeaMate in Singapore

Yinson GreenTech, Singapore based energy and technological company, announced the successful completion of the smart navigation test onboard the Hydromover, Singapore’s first fully electric light cargo vessel, developed by the Goal Zero Consortium and co-funded by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI), and the consortium. This milestone demonstrates the vessel’s ability to safely operate using smart navigation functions and advanced situational awareness systems in complex maritime environments. During the trial, the Hydromover effectively identified potential collision risks and proposed alternative routes in compliance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) – showcasing its ability to make intelligent navigation decisions in real time.
This achievement follows the Letter of Intent signed between Yinson GreenTech’s marinEV and Zeabuz, in November 2024, aimed at integrating Zeabuz’s smart navigation capabilities into the Hydromover. Zeabuz is a Norway based developer of marine autonomy solutions and member of Ocean Autonomy Cluster.
At the heart of this innovation is ZeaMate, Zeabuz’s intelligent self-sailing system, which automates navigation and routine tasks. This allows crew members to focus on critical operations, while giving the captain flexibility to switch seamlessly between smart and manual modes. The integration of the smart navigation system signifies marinEV’s capability to incorporate next-generation technologies into operational-ready platforms, further enhancing efficiency in electric vessels. This test further served as a powerful demonstration of both companies’ shared commitment to enhancing maritime safety and operational efficiency.
