🆕 New digital hub for autonomous systems launched in Australia

🎯 Australia’s first Defence Cooperative Research Centre Trusted Autonomous systems backed by Advance Queensland announced launch of new platform, the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Gateway or RAS-Gateway. The RAS-Gateway is a digital hub designed to support development and use of autonomous systems in Australia.
The RAS-Gateway provides resources and tools that help businesses in the autonomous systems ecosystem to navigate complex regulatory frameworks. The platform provides centralised, clear, and accurate regulatory information and guidance for autonomous systems operators to help prepare them for engagement with Australian regulators.
🔽 The RAS-Gateway features include:
🔹 a Maritime Regulatory Pathway Finder that helps users identify regulatory requirements and processes for their vessel;
🔹a COLREGs Operator Guidance Tool that translates collision rules for autonomous vessels;
🔹a Specific Operations Exploration Tool that helps operators assess ground and air risk for remotely piloted and autonomous system operations.
The RAS-Gateway also supports access to Queensland test ranges with information on the Australian Institute of Marine Science’s tropical test range, ReefWorks, in Townsville and the Queensland Flight Test Range in Cloncurry.
Meanwhile, the Resource Hub provides a central access point for accessible information on current and emerging issues relevant to the Australia autonomous systems sector. Developed in partnership with Brisbane-based digital consultancy Aginic, RAS-Gateway will continue to develop and grow to support the needs of the autonomous systems ecosystem in Australia.
